    The League of Women Voters of Lake County will host a public forum for candidates in contested races for the 10th Congressional, 31st State Senate, and 3rd, 6th and 16th County Board districts. The forum is co-sponsored by the Round Lake Area Public Library. 

  • Winter gets endorsements from two county officials

    WAUKEGAN – Citing the need to have greater independence and leadership in our communities, Lake County Treasurer Robert Skidmore and Superintendent of Schools Roycealee Wood have joined to endorse Bryan Winter for Lake County State’s Attorney, according to a release. This follows the endorsement of Winter’s campaign by Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran and County Clerk Willard Helander.

    CHICAGO – During the 2011 spring legislative session, Stand for Children worked in coalition to support the historic education reform legislation Senate Bill 7. Stand for Children is committed to ensuring the legislation is implemented, and that moving forward, education policies and initiatives ensure every child has access to quality education. To that end, Stand for Children has endorsed Joe Neal for Illinois Senate in the 31st District, along with 10 additional candidates who will be education champions in Springfield.
